Notes on Background
We have been married for over 58 years. The poem is still a good description of our mornings.
POEM
I've just untangled the sheets.
My wife, giggling, rolls on top of me.
She breathes in my ear, “I love you.”
Her kiss anchors the words.
And she opens the shades to let the sun wake us.
